What is Reiki?
Reiki is universal life force energy. The same energy of the creation of flowers, of the flowing river, of the movement of the planets around the earth, and the suns rays.
Having reiki is opening up to something greater than us and saying "Universe, I welcome your support for my healing". Plants and trees heal naturally, like humans. We can apply reiki to plants and trees and animals too. Reiki helps speed up recovery and helps us see truths about ourselves and come into balance.
A lot of the way I use reiki is just a gentle presence around a client so that their natural healing genius can come forth and create a deeper understanding of their self, situations, perspectives; anything that needs to be integrated. Reiki energy allows the safe space for the mind, body, and spirit to come into alignment.
A lot of the time clients don't need to talk something through and can naturally work through their own energy. In this case, the reiki just holds space and provides support for people to connect body, mind, spirit, and come to an alignment of presence.
Other times there's more of a discussion that needs to happen where either the client tells me what is going on with them that they are working through, or I intuit some situation and ask the client more questions. Ideally, at the beginning of a session we will have a short discussion about how the client is doing, what they need/want to work through or want reiki for, and then another discussion after the session about moving forward and self-care.
For happiness, we need to feel integrated and safe. If our mind is doing one thing, body doing another, and spirit doing another, we feel fractured or split. This is not the way humans are supposed to feel.
Using Ayurveda and Reiki tools and education, we can unite our body mind and spirit and come to union (that is what yoga is). Reiki energy holds space and provides life-force for us to bring our self together.
"Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do, are in harmony" Mahatma Ghandi
